KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To work as part of the facilities and administrative team, providing a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, parents, and visitors in a manner that truly reflects the values of our school.
The post holder is expected to prioritise tasks, follow cleaning schedules, and maintain high standards of hygiene with minimum supervision.
- Ensure that all classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas are cleaned to a high standard daily.
- Clean and sanitise frequently touched surfaces to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Ensure that cleaning materials and equipment are used safely and stored appropriately.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies as needed (soap, paper towels, sanitizers, etc.).
- Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the Facilities Manager or Administration.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning areas for school events or meetings.
- Ensure correct disposal of waste and recycling according to school procedures.
- Always follow health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.
- Support the school’s values by maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
- Flexible, positive, and “can-do” attitude to work.
- Experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance.
- Full understanding of Equal Opportunities and able to implement it in everyday practice.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Desirable:
- Similar experience in a business or academic environment.
- Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
